NODE.JS

Node.js Development

Node.js brings JavaScript to the server with an event-driven, non-blocking architecture built for speed and scale. We build APIs, real-time services, and backend systems using Node.js, leveraging its vast ecosystem to deliver reliable, high-throughput applications.

Node.js Capabilities

Event-Driven Architecture

Non-blocking I/O for high-throughput applications. Includes:

  • Async patterns that stay readable;
  • Handling many concurrent requests;
  • Offloading heavy work to queues and workers.

What you receive: responsive services that handle high request volumes.

Real-Time Features

WebSockets, Server-Sent Events, and live data streaming. Includes:

  • Live notifications and dashboards;
  • Chat and collaboration features;
  • Streaming updates to clients.

What you receive: live features that keep users up to date without refreshing.

APIs & Microservices

REST and GraphQL APIs, microservices, and integrations. Includes:

  • API design and documentation;
  • Service boundaries and contracts;
  • Third-party integrations.

What you receive: documented APIs and services with clear responsibilities.

npm Ecosystem

A large package ecosystem for faster development. Includes:

  • Choosing well-maintained packages;
  • Dependency audits and updates;
  • Avoiding unnecessary dependencies.

What you receive: faster development without a fragile dependency tree.

Database Integration

SQL, NoSQL, and cloud databases. Includes:

  • ORMs and query builders;
  • Schema design and migrations;
  • Caching with Redis.

What you receive: a data layer that stays fast as your data grows.

Scalable Backends

Services built for production workloads. Includes:

  • Stateless services that scale horizontally;
  • Logging, metrics, and health checks;
  • Containerized deployment.

What you receive: a back end that scales by adding servers, not rewriting code.

How We Work

A transparent, predictable process from first contact to ongoing support

Roadmap

01 – Discovery

We start by listening. Please call us, send an email, or book a video call. We’d like to hear about the project you want to build or the problem you would like to solve, what you’ve tried so far, and any deadlines or budget constraints. If we need to look at your existing project before recommending a direction, we’ll discuss that next step with you.

  • Initial call to discuss your goals and constraints
  • Review of existing systems or requirements

02 – NDA

An NDA is a document designed to protect your ideas, business plans, and any other sensitive information you can’t discuss with everyone.

While the NDA is listed as the second step in this workflow, it can be signed at any point, even before the discovery call. It doesn’t cost you anything, so please feel free to ask for it whenever necessary.

03 – Proposal

After evaluating your requirements, we send you a proposal. Normally, that’s a Master Service Agreement (MSA) plus a Scope of Work (SoW).

The MSA sets out the general terms of how we work together. Each Statement of Work (SoW) then defines the scope, responsibilities, timeline, and pricing for a specific engagement.

The SoW is where we define the project, timeline, budget, acceptance criteria, and everything else not covered by the MSA.

If you decide to give us more work (and why not, we’re quite good at IT), we don’t sign another MSA. We simply sign a new SoW under the same MSA.

04 – Engagement

Once agreed, we get to work.

The SoW sets out what we’ll deliver, the timeline, and our responsibilities. We’ll keep you updated as the work progresses and discuss any issues that could affect delivery.

05 – Delivery

We deliver the work defined in the Statement of Work (SoW) and review it with you against the agreed acceptance criteria. Depending on the engagement, this may include deploying software, handing over code and documentation, or presenting findings and recommendations.

Software Development projects: full code ownership, no licensing or royalties. 30 days of code warranty included.

06 – Support

Support is optional and mainly applies to software development projects rather than advisory engagements.

If you need help after launch or ongoing software maintenance, we can discuss retainer options. You decide whether you’d like us to stay involved after delivery.

  • Ongoing maintenance and bug fixes as needed
  • Flexible support agreements, no long-term lock-in
  • Direct line back to the team that built it
